ABOUT THE APA
The APA Pool League is an amateur league involving team competition and thay are handicapped so everyone has a chance to compete. There may be up to eight players on a team with five players competing weekly.
Every host location may have 2 teams for every table. By having 2 teams, owners will always have 1 team playing at home every week.
Players must join the American Poolplayers Association (APA). The cost is $20.00 per year. The year runs from January 1st to December 31st. Weekly fees are $6.00 per player ($8.00 for money divisions).
A division consists of 6 to 16 teams, geographically located so that travel is convenient for all players.
There are three sessions a year: Summer, Fall and Spring. Sessions run 12 to 17 weeks. At the end of the session 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams plus a wildcard team will compete in the playoff's for the title of Division Champions. Trophies are awarded to the Division Champions and host location. The 2nd place team receives a team bar trophy.
Every Division Champion is eligible to play in the Regional Qualifier Tournament. Larger divisions may qualify up to 2 additional top place teams. The winning teams from the qualifier tournament advance to our State Championship Tournament. The winners of this tournament advance on to Las Vegas for the National Championship.
We also have a National Single's Championship Tournament for men and woman. One million dollars, (1,000,000,00), in cash and prizes is awarded at the National Championship Tournaments. We also run many local tournaments during the year such as the Captains Tournaments, $300.00 added Best of the Best, partners and singles, just to name a few!!!
